What are the rules for presenting new products during LVMH Watch Week? Even if there were rules, Hublot probably wouldn’t follow them – just like a brand doesn’t follow rules! For this first watchmaking event of 2023, the Manufacture took inspiration from its bestseller of 2022, flavored with a touch of Haute Joaillerie madness to create a pair of non-identical twin watches that invite us to play and enjoy gemstone craftsmanship . set up case. Let’s start right away. The first resemblance is eye candy. You don’t have to be a gemstone expert to appreciate this: both models are Rainbow models, adorned with a flow of translucent gemstones in perfect gradations that blend seamlessly with all the hues of the rainbow.
The two pieces are not only adorned with stones, but are fully paved from the case to the bezel and bracelet. Precious stones take their place next to the most beautiful minerals: ruby, amethyst, blue topaz, tsavorite, as well as a whole range of sapphires – pink, orange, blue and yellow. Each radiant gemstone has its own unique hue, the subtle nuances of which have been captured one by one by the skilled eyes and hands of the master stonemason. There are a total of 174 gems in the Big Bang Integrated watch, 176 gems in the Time Only watch, and each bracelet has 768 and 748 gems in the set respectively.
They are then cut from the same metal or alloy: the royal gold that is so precious to Hublot, and made exclusively in Hublot’s own workshop. This alloy has a warmer golden color than regular 18K 5N gold. Platinum-based, it lends itself ideally to all polishing and satin-finishing operations that allow the full effect of these two variants to be appreciated, alternating between smooth, satin-finished surfaces and polished bevels whose brilliance sparkles in unison with each of the gemstones set on the piece .
Finally, both parts share the same all-black dial: main plate, flange and date window. These elements are rendered in an intense black, creating the perfect monochrome background to bring out the full radiance of the dazzling surroundings.
Two large skeleton hands and a gold black rubber crown form two “ears” on the sides at 3 and 9 o’clock. The case and bracelet are a perfect match: seamless in style, material and color, offering full comfort to the wearer.
Every detail is set in motion by its own movement. The first is a chronograph powered by a self-winding Unico manufacture movement, an original Hublot movement, a skeletonized caliber offering a power reserve of three full days. This prestigious movement beats in a large case measuring 42mm in diameter.
