Uniting for the first time, around the same inspiration: a collaboration between the know-how of Franck Muller and the talent of artist Hom Nguyen, they are now offering their collectors a piece of art Special Technique: Cintrée Curvex™ Double Mystère at Tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

The artist drew directly on the matte black dial, taking freehand inspiration from the nib of his pen so that represents the face of a child looking up at the sky. An emotional and hopeful look at where the line is given as a way of life. From line to line, design embodies the trajectory of human life.

Instead of hands, the time is displayed on rotating discs thanks to the famous Double Mystery complication. This is how the face takes shape when the discs are perfectly aligned at 12 o’clock, a play between pressure and fading. Entirely hand drawn and assembled in the tradition of watchmaking craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind timepiece is powered by a hand-wound
mechanical movement by Franck Muller with a 60-hour power reserve.

The work of art, exhibited for the first time at the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie – WPHH – in the Manufacture Franck Muller, is exceptionally presented throughout the year in
ephemeral exhibitions worldwide. The box is 65 centimeters long, 45 centimeters wide and 35 centimeters high and is entirely decorated with faces of children the artist met in Cambodia.

A unique case that embodies Homa’s love of life, drawings made with instinctive and dynamic strokes that come to life vividly and uninhibited, the small details that underlie the uniqueness of a person.

In this work, Franck Muller and Hom write the continuation of a story that began more than 20 years ago in one of the Paris districts.

More about Hom Nguyen

Born in 1972, this French artist of Vietnamese origin is the son of a mother who immigrated to France in the 1970s. It is after her death, in 2009, that Hom Nguyen fully commits himself to an artistic path, guided by an urgent need to express himself.

Through his subjects, Hom Nguyen’s work is universal, questioning human destiny, between joy and sorrow, cry and silence, presence and loss. The artist’s work is particularly sensitive to the human values that Hom Nguyen embodies and conveys: a feeling of peace, respect, communion, spirituality. These values are for him the foundation of all art: a path that connects one man to another.

Self-taught artist who is characterized by an instinctive and figurative style, Hom Nguyen received in 2021 the honorable distinction of Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite.
