Sydney, Australia Thursday, June 6th, 2018: Tonight, TAG Heuer and global brand ambassador Chris Hemsworth officially celebrate the 55th anniversary of the iconic TAG Heuer Carrera, launching in Sydney A dynamic museum exhibit. The star-studded launch took place at the Museum of Contemporary Art during the Vivid Festival of Lights, overlooking stunning Sydney Harbour.

Hemsworth played 1970s McLaren driver James Hunt, Niki Lauda’s nemesis in the 2013 film Rush, showing TAG Heuer’s DNA in motorsport, one of the first to be associated with Formula One One of the cooperating brands. This is where the relationship between Hemsworth and the renowned Swiss watch brand started and strengthened, and of course it continued to grow when Chris officially joined the family of global brand ambassadors in 2015. TAG Heuer’s strong presence in the Australian market and Chris’ image and attitude make him the perfect ambassador to celebrate the launch of the Museum in Motion and the anniversary of the iconic TAG Heuer Carrera collection.

Key guests including brand pal Scotty James, social media influencer Elle Ferguson, design guru Neale Whitaker and actor Lincoln Younes had a fun Q&A between MC Allison Langdon and Hemsworth about his favourite TAG Heuer Carrera series watch. As a special piece for the event, Hemsworth presents a one-of-a-kind TAG Heuer Carrera watch, co-designed and manufactured exclusively for the event. Inspired by Chris’ own unique style, the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02 watch features a 43mm case, in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement, a black perforated rubber strap and a unique blue skeleton dial. With Chris’ signature on the back of the case, and a special edition watch box included, it was auctioned off for the Australian Children’s Fund that night, raising a total of $35,000 for the charity. As a father with over 20 years of experience as a social worker with his parents, Hemsworth is a passionate supporter of the foundation. Funds raised at night will help repair the devastating effects of abuse, domestic violence and child neglect.
