Neuburg a. d. Donau, November 15, 2021 – The Campeonato de España de Resistencia racing series in Spain ended in Barcelona with two Audi Sport customer teams winning the championship. A second-place finish in the IMSA TCR Manufacturers’ standings and a second-place finish in the Japan Super Tailor Series final rounded off a weekend of Audi Sport customer racing.

Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR)

TCR title in Spain: Mirco van Nostrum/Alvaro Fontes won the TCR title for the first time in the Audi RS 3 LMS in the final at Campeonato de España de Resistencia. A second-place finish in the two-hour race in Barcelona was enough for the Dutchman and his Spanish teammates to win the championship with a 73.2-point lead. Season results of two private Audi drivers in the Spanish Enduro Series: 2 wins, 5 second and 1 third, spread over five race weekends. A total of 12 drivers scored in the TCR classification throughout the season. The CDS engineering team’s title once again extends the proven track record of the Audi RS 3 LMS: to date, the first-generation entry-level touring car launched in 2017 has won 66 championship titles worldwide in different drivers and class classifications.

Runner-up in North America: The Audi customer team successfully concluded the season in the TCR classification of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Thanks to its team’s performance, Audi is runner-up in the manufacturers’ rankings with the RS 3 LMS, behind Hyundai and ahead of Honda and Alfa Romeo. Chris Miller/Mickey Taylor contributed the lion’s share of victories at Daytona and Virginia and finished seventh. Jon Morley/Gavin Enstone contributes another victory to Audi Sport’s Sebring record. In the Atlanta Road finale, six customer teams – Road Shagger Racing, AOA Racing, Rockwell Autosport Development, New German Performance, TWOth Autosport/Bestline AutoTech and Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports – each used the RS 3 LMS. Ernstone/Morley finished sixth in a grueling two-hour race, just five seconds behind. Among the 16 participants at Road Atlanta, Audi was the brand with the second highest number of customers.

Informative long-distance race: Audi Driving Experience Team Japan competed in the final of the Super Too Rush series in the Audi RS 3 LMS. In the past, successful graduates of practical driving courses have entered the racing world this way. This time, Daisuke Imamura and Yuki Nono shared the cockpit with Hideki Nakahara. The trio of riders finished second in the TCR class at the three-hour race in Okayama.

Christophe Hamon, Michael Blanchemain and Vincent Saphores won the T5 class with a seven-lap lead at the 6 Hours of Le Mans.
