Sant’Agata Bolognese, 18 January 2022 – Automobili Lamborghini has announced the first NFT (Non-Fungible Token) project in the company’s history. Posts on social media on the topic of “Going to the Moon” suggest that the space art piece – the so-called Lamborghini Space Key – has now been officially unveiled and is headed to auction. The heart of this exclusive project, developed in collaboration with an as-yet-unnamed artist and limited to five units, is Lamborghini’s advanced carbon fiber composite material Sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part of a joint research project. After returning from space, including all relevant tests for research purposes, carbon fiber composites are now part of Space Key: these materials mark another milestone for the company, this time a gateway to the world of NFTs. Each of the five space keys is linked to an exclusive purely digital artwork by the same artist via a QR code on the carbon fiber back.
