MARIO AGUILAR, THE UNIQUE STYLE OF AN INTERNET SENSATION.

Mario Aguilar has amassed over fifty-five million followers across social media and grown as one of the most sought-after comedians and LGBTQ+ influencers around the global Latin community. LUXCLUB Magazine talks to Mario about fame, music, and his journey as a content creator!

What was it like to realize you were an internet sensation overnight?

The truth is that I never imagined that social media would lead me to fame. I never imagined that creating content on the internet would lead me to what I am now, a recognized content creator not only in social media but also in theater, doing live shows, I never imagined the power that social media has to boost someone and reach immediate fame which is what happened to me. The truth is that I blew up on social media overnight and I am very grateful because that taught me the power of it.

Is there anything you would change about your fame?

I would not change anything because I feel that everything good comes with something bad so to speak. I love who I am. I love being able to communicate with people, with fans, and if I could change something it would be the time that sometimes you are so busy that you can not attend events with your family or other important events but I think these are things that must be sacrificed to get ahead.

What are the pros and cons of being a recognized influencer?

I think the pros are that you can influence other people to grow as a person, and the pros of being an influencer in the field of comedy is that I can make a lot of people feel better, feel good about themselves, if they are having a hard time they feel a little better, and the cons are that sometimes you lose your own privacy in public places and so on, but it is something that you can get used to and deal with it.

What are the top three tips to becoming a social media influencer?

The 3 tips that I can give are:
Dedication. Dedicate yourself to what you love doing.
Perseverance. It is important, you have to be consistent in your networks and platforms.
Humility. Know that as easy things come, easy things go.

What should someone avoid on their journey of content creation?

Talking about certain topics or getting involved in topics that do not go with you, that do not correspond to you, know well what you want to do and what you want to dedicate yourself to, for example I am a comedian, I am only dedicated to make people laugh and am always in the field of comedy. I am also in the field of music and they are very different things, but I think to be very faithful to what you want to do.

What is the weirdest request you’ve been asked to promote or participate in and how did you respond?

There are no strange things yet, but I have been asked to do everything, from attending Quinceañeras, to being the chamberlain of a fan. I have been asked for many things, but I can

tell you strange anecdotes. They have stolen my hats, in the crowd they have grabbed me, they have stung my eyes without wanting to pull my hair, many things have happened to me, but the strangest thing is being asked to be a chamberlain.

Can you share a secret with us about yourself that others wouldn’t know?

If I could tell you a strange secret that many people don’t know about me, it could be that I can talk like Donald Duck.

If you were not a content creator, what career path would you have pursued?

I was studying computer systems, which was something I wanted to do, but since I was a little boy I have always loved animals, so if I could have studied something related to that I would have been very happy. I love animals and I would have liked something like that.

Can you tell us about any special project you’re working on?

Right now, I’m working on my music. I’m going to release a new EP called Quiero Bailar, followed by another one called Corazón Roto. Two very soft music EP’s are coming, and my new show is coming which is called “Ojo de Loca No Se Equivoca,” which in fact you are the first to know, because we are about to announce it soon, so right now that is what I’m concentrating on, my music and my next show that you will love.
