Two unique cars – a roadster and a coupe – have been created to celebrate the end of the V12 supercar era and the beginning of the hybrid era.
Sant’Agata Bolognese, February 6, 2023 Just weeks before the debut of Lamborghini’s first hybrid supercar, the Italian company is celebrating its famous naturally aspirated V12 engine in the Invencible coupe and the Auténtica roadster: two unique ones, a car that carries the DNA of the The brand underscores and represents the culmination of Lamborghini’s exclusive emphasis on personalization by involving the customer in the development of truly individual models from the start.
“The V12 engine is one of the pillars of our history and our marque’s success,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO. “As we head towards embracing a new era of hybridization at the heart of our Cor Tauri strategy, this is the Lamborghini way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly represent our concept of excellence in personalization.”
The two distinctive cars were designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile as the epitome of maximum creativity using the V12 platform, reflecting the design elements that have contributed to the company’s iconic status, and built on a track-inspired sporty character.
Invincible and Autentica pay tribute to Lamborghini design masterpieces: the Sesto Elemento, a homage to lightness and motorsport characterised by a large rear wing; Reventon with his unique aviation style; and the Veneno, which takes the pursuit of aerodynamic perfection to the extreme.
“We have created two one-off cars with their own unique character, inspired by track days and the high-octane circuit environment,” said Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini Head of Design. “They are designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, exerting maximum creativity on the V12 platform. These one-off designs draw on our unique design DNA while once again elevating our design heritage to a new level.“
Both new cars feature the same carbon fiber monocoque as the Sant’Agata Bolognese-built Aventador, as well as a full carbon fiber body that incorporates design and technology proven by Lamborghini in motorsport. The imposing bonnet is inspired by the Essenza SCV12 bonnet, as is a distinctive front splitter with vertical struts designed for efficient airflow management.
The hexagon, a famous motif of cutting-edge Lamborghini design, is included harmoniously but conspicuously into the different visible factors of the car, beginning with the placing the front and rear mild meeting highlighted with the aid of using progressive hexagonal LED strolling lights. On the bonnet, the air intakes are paying homage to the ones at the Sesto Elemento, and the equal cues are repeated withinside the crucial triple exhaust with Inconel tips: a unique high-overall performance metal alloy derived from the aerospace industry.
The interior of both cars is based on clean lines, with hexagonal 3D-printed air vents and no instruments on the console, with minimal dashboard reinforcements to emphasize cabin lightness and pure driving pleasure. The cockpit itself is housed in a carbon fiber frame and has a digital readout with graphics unique to each car.
The Invencible coupé is characterized via way of means of the diffused evaluation among the dominant colour of crimson and the carbon-appearance factors more suitable via way of means of crimson ‘flakes’. The Rosso Efesto bodywork is complemented via way of means of sills and doorframes in carbon, similar to the brake callipers in Rosso Mars, which take a seat down in the back of single-nut wheels with carbon fibre fairings to ventilate the brake assembly. On the conventional scissor doors, there are outstanding hexagonal tricolours: a tribute to the Italian flag this is echoed at the door linings in addition to properly as at the steerage wheel.
The interior, in the same color as the body, contrasts with Rosso Alala leather and Nero Cosmus Alcantara, highlighted by personalized embroidery in Rosso Alala and Nero Ade. The dashboard sports the Lamborghini logo in Rosso Efesto, the same color as the paddle shifters.
While maintaining its truly unique character, the Auténtica Roadster features a Grigio Titans body with matte black detailing and Giallo Auge paintwork that repeats the color on the brake calipers as well as on key aerodynamic elements. These include a front splitter and a motorsport rear wing that optimizes aerodynamic loading, with a pair of fins on the sides. The car’s profile is unique thanks to two domes with integrated roll bars inspired by the open-top racing cars of the past. The open-air interior features elegant Giallo Taurus embroidery with contrasting Nero Ade leather upholstery and two-tone Nero Cosmus and Grigio Octans Alcantara upholstery.
The Invencible and Auténtica are the latest cars produced by Lamborghini, powered by a 6.5-liter 12-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally at the rear (Longitudinal Posteriore: “LP “). Lamborghini’s outgoing V12 powertrain delivers a final whoop of 780 hp. and a maximum torque of 720 Nm at 6750 rpm, paired with a seven-speed ISR gearbox, all-wheel drive and Lamborghini’s Dynamic Steering system, which steers all four wheels.
