Created while the world was still engulfed in World War II, the Premier collection was Willy Breitling’s antidote to austerity. It was a time when wristwatches were the professional tools of pilots, navigators and engineers. And no one understood this better than Willy, whose precision chronograph shop was famous.
A man of great personal style, Willy also strived to make the wristwatch an elegant piece that, like the glamorous black-and-white films of the time, inspired optimism despite turbulent times. Launched in 1943, its Premier line retained all the hallmarks of its superb chronographs, but enriched them with form.
With the Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer is demonstrating this spirit once again. A sophisticated tourbillon complication is at the heart of a new trio of exceptional timepieces.

PURPOSE WITH STYLE
The tourbillon contains a balance wheel, balance spring and escapement in a rotating cage, setting the whole assembly in constant motion. This action effectively corrects and eliminates gravity, which affects the clock’s accuracy differently in different positions.
Breitling worked hand-in-hand with custom movement maker Manufacture La Joux-Perret to develop the B21 movement, which takes the unusual step of combining a tourbillon with a chronograph to create this trio of Breitling signatures.
The Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42 is crafted from precious metals and features a domed case back. They are presented in three versions, each named after one of Breitling’s founding fathers. The Léon Breitling has a solid 18k rose gold case with a silver dial and a semi-glossy brown alligator leather strap. The Gaston Breitling watch combines a solid 18k white gold case with an anthracite dial and a black alligator leather strap. The Willy Breitling, on the other hand, is a solid platinum vision with an admiral blue dial and black alligator leather strap. Each watch features the stylized square pushers and Arabic numerals that are hallmarks of the Premier line.
Its symmetrical dial design, the harmonious play of numbers and the tone-on-tone coloring harmonize perfectly with the undisputed star of the show, the tourbillon, which is the center of attention at 12 o’clock. The open sapphire crystal caseback is domed, allowing you to fully enjoy the B21 movement, which contrasts the rotor and tourbillon caseback in 18k gold.
