MARILYN PATIÑO is today one of the most important actresses on Colombian television and perhaps in Latin America. Undoubtedly “without tits there is no paradise” “hey pretty”, “fair play”, “without breasts there is no paradise” “a dream called salsa”, have made this actress one of the most respected and loved. And as she herself says, “My beginnings were quite hard, because I felt that I had a cultural battle at the beginning, due to the fact that I came from Cali, also the weather in Bogotá influenced a lot, but my desire to fulfill dreams was stronger. I had many teachers and I learned a lot from all of them and I’m still studying and learning, I think you never finished studying this career!” In this New Year’s Eve special, the beautiful Marilyn Patiño shows us the most dynamic side of her in fashion for the New Year’s Eve parties and all the glamour. How were your beginnings in the world of acting?
My beginnings in this world of entertainment were quite lapses, with respect to each stage lived, I began at the age of 14 studying acting at an academy in Cali called Jorge Enrique Aguilera, then I began modeling for various brands in Cali, as a fashion studio they were diesel, Girbaud and unlimited, they were spectacular lasts, RAM was another brand, Ashantel, kiss me, white point etc, I was a size model (that’s what it was called) and went from casting to casting looking for an opportunity to do TV.
With which people did you train in acting? how were they as teachers?
I had many teachers and I learned a lot from all of them and I continue to study and learn. I think you never finished studying this degree. Adriana Barraza is a wonderful teacher, ANDRES Parra too, Laura García, Victoria Hernández, Humberto Rivera, ANDRES López, Víctor Quintanilla, Santiago Vargas, among others outside the country.
Everyone has left me beautiful food in this race. How did you enter television and what characters came to your profession?
2003 brought me my first opportunity to work on television and it came with a series called “The Authentic Rodrigo Leal”, then came the opportunity to play a character in “you will love me in the rain” then “fair play” then “without boobs there is no paradise” then a novel “for love” and so I continued to participate in various novels and series,” Camilo’s decision “who will love María” capo 3, without breasts if there is paradise “”hey pretty” they are repeating it , “a dream called salsa” “el albergue” (Mexican production) then I came back to Colombia to be part of another production for Caracol TV “la hipocondriaca” now I am on television hiatus for the upbringing of my children.

With Carlos Fagua, Johnny Hendrix, Carlos Mazo, among others.
Do you regret any work you have done in your past?
I do not regret having worked at anything, work has always been my source of pride and joy.
What is your start to create a character?
First observe, read, listen, analyze, build everything from scratch to create my work. I love the creation of each character, each one with his own story and life.
What actors or actresses have inspired your career?
Without a doubt Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, Anthony Hopkins, Richard Gere, among others.
Changing the subject a bit, let’s talk about Marilyn Patiño as a singer. How were your beginnings with music?
Years ago I was studying vocal technique and I wanted to release a song. My beginnings in music were from the age of 20, I liked to sing and I began to take classes with different vocal technique teachers, it was more expensive than now, for me at that time. At that time, making a musical production was almost impossible, besides, I did not have a clear guide. So I decided to wait, and in the pandemic I launched myself with a shock salsa song called “I’m still good”
Are you premiering a song alongside the Colombian singer Juan Pablo Navarrete “Amantes”?
Let’s talk a little about this song, how did this song originate and how was the video made? This song called “Lovers” where I decide to invite Juan Pablo Navarrete, begins with the idea of a mutual friend who calls me and says, why don’t you sing with Juanpa who is a friend of mine, and I told him “you know I do ! I like the idea, I’m going to make a proposal with a composition”, I called my producer and told him why not, we wrote a song called “Lovers”, I started with the name, since it seemed viral to me, then we said let’s hum in what rhythm we want it and cumbia ranchera came out, then we found the verses for the chorus and so on and it left. I showed the proposal to Juanpa and he liked it, so we sat down to think about how the video could be, and I said: “it must be in a circus” because of the theme of lies, the trick of lovers and that they constantly play to fall in love hahaha and we carried it out together with my friend and producer Julio Echeverry and his company Lápiz mágico. They put the costumes, cameras, makeup and production in general.
Will you continue with the popular genre or will you return a bit to the shock sauce? we saw you with Jaisson Jeack & Komix some time ago.
I love salsa and shock salsa too, I just feel that it was super to start making music, but popular music has moved me a lot since I was a child and I feel that I can show more things with this genre. This is just beginning and I have all the best disposition to embark on this musical path. With Jaisson Jeack we have several songs done and we will probably perform together in several shows and continue to share. And of course always open to new opportunities!
Speaking a little about the end of the year, what is coming for this Christmas on a personal and family level?
Much more this Christmas! I love being with my family, in recollection, I love sunbathing, and a change of climate, but above all sharing food and beautiful moments with the family that are kept and treasured forever, there is a schedule until the first week of December and then I hope to go to Cali to rest and then to Cartagena, they are cities that I love, Cali for my mother and my brothers, niece, and Cartagena for happiness and the beach. If it is talking about fashion, how do you like to receive Christmas Eve and Christmas? Is there any special outfit? Speaking of outfits for Christmas, I love glitter, I am a lover of glitter regardless of the time of year, I do it yes. In hot weather, low necklines and skirts with tennis shoes and low shoes are my favorites, as are wide-legged pants, but made of very light fabrics.
What comes for this 2023?
For this 2023 I do not really know what will come, I do not like to plan too much, look at the world how it is, the things that happen daily, there are many people to help or simply if you plan a lot things happen, I don’t know, now I have a lot of respect for God, fate and I prefer to be open to receive whatever comes, but always with the best expectation, the best positive attitude, ready to do what my heart and reason tell me, I want to continue releasing music that would be nice, “these are my plans “You already know that as a human being you make many plans, but God is the one who decides if you manage to execute them or not What message do you leave to the readers? My message to the readers, first of all, is to be happy, to fulfill your dreams and to be responsible when it comes to dreaming and doing.
