Tuesday, October 11, 2022 Gaydon, UK – The Jaguar F-TYPE is the authority on Jaguar sports cars, with a rich 75-year pedigree that includes some of the most iconic models ever built.

Available as a coupe or convertible, the F-TYPE strikes the perfect balance between emotional performance and driver reward, with a muscular, confident design and an interior characterised by luxurious materials, refined craftsmanship and fine detailing.

For the final model year in stores starting in early 2023, the range has become simpler and more focused, making it easy for customers to choose the perfect F-TYPE. The car also looks more purposeful and confident than ever, with 20-inch wheels as standard on all models and discreet details such as black and grey instead of red and green.

To celebrate the last model year of the F-TYPE and the 75th anniversary of the Jaguar sports car, customers can choose from the new F-TYPE 75 or the F-TYPE R 75 Special Edition. They feature unique interior and exterior design elements, carefully selected specifications and, of course, the Jaguar 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that is synonymous with the F-TYPE**. These exclusive models are a fitting tribute to the performance of the internal combustion engine ahead of Jaguar’s transition from 2025 to an all-electric modern luxury brand.

Matthew Beaven, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Designer, Exteriors, said; “For 75 years Jaguar has been renowned for producing extraordinary sports cars that deliver performance, agility and maximum driver reward. The F-TYPE special editions hold true to these principles, adding unique interior and exterior design details to celebrate this lineage before Jaguar becomes an all-electric brand from 2025.”

Design

As compelling as ever, the Jaguar F-TYPE is the definitive Jaguar sports car with a rich pedigree that dates back 75 years. The powerful proportions of the front-engined two-seater – whose body structure is moulded from lightweight, strong aluminium – are immediately recognisable, and its focused and confident presence evokes the flowing lines of Jaguar’s rich sports car heritage, starting with the XK120 – The fastest 1948 mass-produced car was introduced to the world market.

Ultra-thin LED headlights** with standard pixel technology, with “calligraphic” J signature daytime running lights and curved direction indicators, accentuate the vehicle’s visual breadth and hint at its performance potential. They blend beautifully with the “Liquid Metal” finish of the clamshell bonnet, sweeping back elegantly, inspired by iconic models like the C-Type and D-Type.

Unique to the F-TYPE 75 and F-TYPE R 75 is a subtle badge on the front fender, which represents the unmistakable F-TYPE silhouette.

As part of a curated effort to simplify customer service, every F-TYPE in the range now comes standard with model-specific 20-inch wheels, with the F-TYPE 75 and R 75 featuring gloss black five-spoke and gloss black diamond-turned 10-spoke Wheels are designed separately.

The rear hip accentuates the Jaguar F-TYPE’s striking, purposeful shape and sweeps down to stylish LED taillights with ‘Chicane’ logos. Powertrain-specific exhaust pipes emerge from the rear diffuser, making it clear the F-TYPE’s performance intent. The four-cylinder models feature a single central styling, while the 450hp F-TYPE 75 and 575hp F-TYPE R 75 V8s feature four external tailpipes – the latter with subtly etched R branding.

The F-TYPE’s driver-focused interior is the pure expression of the car’s elegance and performance. Jaguar craftsmanship, refined detailing and a wealth of materials and finishes combine to convey an enhanced sense of luxury and sportiness.

The ‘1+1’ cockpit features a reconfigurable 12.3-inch interactive driver display with selectable display themes – as a true sports car, the standard model features a large central tachometer.

This feature and shift light subtly convey the character and performance potential of the Jaguar F-TYPE through the digitally amplified pulsating red ‘heartbeat’ of the starter button and the mechanical theatre of the extended central air vents.

F-TYPE 75 and R 75 models feature a unique contour pattern on the Engine Spin centre console fascia and stainless steel door sills, while the interior black kit is another subtle upgrade.

The lightweight Slimline seats – in either a sporty or performance design, the latter standard on the F-TYPE 75 and R 75 – combine an ergonomically optimised shape with outstanding comfort, furthered by heating and cooling options enhanced. Fine materials such as Windsor leather – standard on the special edition – further add to the luxurious feel, complemented by details such as the handcrafted Monogram stitching pattern – repeated on the door panels with extended leather upgrade options – and Jaguar Leaper or R-patterned headrests. Ebony velvet head trim – also standard on the F-TYPE 75 and R 75 – further enriches the interior.

Ride and Handling

The F-TYPE continues to set the standard for truly immersive, engaging and driver-focused sports cars. Dual-wishbone front and rear suspension, finely tuned Electric Power Steering (EPAS) and brake torque vectoring provide outstanding agility and a genuine sense of connectedness. These attributes are the basis for the vehicle’s immediate and intuitive response to any driver input.

The chassis of the F-TYPE 75** and R 75 is further enhanced, the steering knuckles are made of lightweight, rigid die-cast aluminium which, together with the larger wheel bearings, allow absolute precise control of the tyre contact area for an even more connection steering feel. On the R 75, this key feature has been further optimised with a revised upper ball joint that significantly increases camber and toe stiffness. Both models also feature an Electronic Active Rear Differential (EAD) to optimize traction.

Torque-on-demand all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) technology – standard on F-TYPE 75** and R 75 – improves traction and power – on all surfaces and in all weather conditions – while maintaining F- The TYPE’s characteristic rear-wheel drive feel and handling balance.

All 300PS four-cylinder F-TYPE models use carefully tuned monotube dampers to provide the ride and handling characteristics that give these models a unique personality, while the F-TYPE 75** and R 75 feature Jaguar’s Adaptive Dynamics system , with configurable dynamics. Adaptive Dynamics uses electronically controlled continuously variable dampers to optimize low-speed comfort and high-speed control, while Configurable Dynamics allows drivers to customize suspension stiffness, steering weight, throttle response and shift settings.

Each F-TYPE in the range features unique 20-inch wheels. All models are available in one standard design and three optional designs, including forged wheels for the R 75. Embodying its status as the performance flagship of the F-TYPE range, the R 75 is fitted with wider, specially developed Pirelli P Zero tyres – 265/35/ZR20 and 305/30/ZR20 front and rear – for excellent grip.

The F-TYPE R 75 can be equipped with Jaguar’s Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system. Featuring 398mm and 380mm front and rear discs and six-piston and four-piston monobloc calipers with a unique yellow finish, the system provides exceptional braking performance and outstanding durability.

Powertrain

The F-TYPE’s line of powerful, responsive engines includes four- and eight-cylinder options ranging from 300 hp to 575 hp – unrivaled in its class. All are matched to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual control via the SportShift selector or steering wheel paddles. All engines are built at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK.

The rear-wheel-drive-only 2.0-liter 300PS turbocharged Ingenium 4-cylinder engine produces maximum torque at just 1,500rpm and provides excellent throttle response throughout the rev range. It also delivers all the performance you’d expect from an F-TYPE, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

The 450hp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 has been developed to deliver usable, usable and rewarding performance – producing a maximum torque of 580Nm at 2,500rpm. The engine is available in the F-TYPE 75** with a choice of all-wheel drive with intelligent drivetrain dynamics or, for purists, rear-wheel drive. Both have electronic active rear differentials to optimize traction, and both allow for 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph.

For truly exceptional performance in any weather and on any type of road, there are F-TYPE R 75. The supercharged V8, available only with all-wheel drive, delivers 575 hp and an impressive 700 Nm of torque: the benchmark sprint to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h lie.

As standard, every engine is matched with a switchable active exhaust system. The signature pops and pops synonymous with F-TYPE have been retained, with the sound carefully tuned to each model’s unique characteristics. A high-efficiency particulate filter** located close to the engine helps reduce emissions.

Customers who opt for a V8 benefit from the Quiet Start feature, which ensures a more subtle, more polite starting sound: the electric bypass valves in the rear muffler remain closed until they open automatically under load, and are always Since then the characteristic roar unleashes the driving experience of the fundamental F-TYPE. If desired, Quiet Start can be overridden by selecting Dynamic mode or pressing the toggle release button before starting the engine.
