Director Adrián Zurita’s debut film hits Mexican cinemas as a reminder that life is one and family comes first.

“I am very happy for the premiere in Mexico of this wonderful film, Un Retrato de Familia, the debut film of director Adrián Zurita. Since I received the script I fell in love with the story and my character. Grateful to the production for this opportunity to shoot this film in Mexico. It is a privilege to star in this film alongside a great actor, such as Humberto Zurita, and alongside a great cast of Mexican actresses and actors,” Mar said.

The film stars Humberto Zurita and Mar Saura, along with a great cast Ximena Romo, Macarena Muiguel and Regina Contreras, the story portrays the efforts of a father to recover the lost communication with his family before everyday life and work.

In the film, Mariano Avendaño (Humberto Zurita) is a man who faces the crossroads of becoming the new CEO of a well-known company or accepting the advice of his boss, Don Joaquín (Hugo Stiglitz), who makes him see that his family is more important than job success.
“It’s a wonderful story where you find a character like mine, who has put his family aside a bit. It’s not that he’s a bad man, but that he’s confused, like most human beings,” explains Humberto Zurita about his character.

Upon returning home, Mariano realizes that his wife Lucia (Mar Saura) and daughters Camila (Ximena Romo), Sofia (Macarena Miguel), and Paula (Regina Contreras) have grown and changed, and in this new scenario, there is no place where he can fit in.

This is the story of how Mariano was reunited with his family in a comical, honest and sincere way, overcoming many obstacles in order to fit back into his home.

“Watching the movie, at some point you’re going to tear up; you’re also going to laugh out loud and throughout the movie there’s a half smile. It caresses your soul and heart,” says Mar Saura.
A Family Portrait, a film that opens in theaters on Thursday, July 21, has the special and musical participation of singer Miguel Ríos and Maná guitarist Sergio Vallín.

The film is produced by Joselin Hernández; Adriana Llabrés, Kevin Beltrán and Mauricio Argüelles complete the cast.
