Guanajuato, Mexico – April 27, 2022 – In order to promote the State of Guanajuato as a tourist destination nationally and internationally, soon the ecological actor Arap Bethke begins a new adventure as an explorer with the premiere of And you, what are you going to do? the new series of tourism promotion of Guanajuato, where the histrión is ambassador and image of the new campaign.
Traveling with his backpack, which by the way, will be prepared by the production, and only to the destination will he discover what exists inside, Arap will discover the beauty of Guanaiuato, Mexico, touring the known and unknown and untraditional: from gastronomy, culture, adventure tourism, romance, business and ethnological and distillate routes; as well as countless beautiful places, as its 6 magical towns: Dolores Hidalgo, Comonfort, Jalpa de Cánovas, Salvatierra, Yuriria and Mineral de Pozos. Two world heritage cities: Guanajuato Capital and San Miguel de Allende. In addition, other destinations such as Celaya, San José Iturbide, Tierra Blanca, Jerécuaro, Tarandacuao, Moroleón, Uriangato, Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao, San Felipe, León, Valle de Santiago and Ocampo.
The series will show the journey that the environmental actor made for 28 days with his backpack, which in each episode will have different things to overcome some difficulties, as well as to enjoy the beauty of each of these regions of the Bajío. “I was amazed at the cultural variety and things I didn’t know could be done in Guanajuato. The roads of Guanajuato surprised me a lot. I am very grateful to the Ministry of Tourism of Guanajuato and TV Cuatro for allowing me to be the image of this tourism promotion campaign,” Said Bethke.
He said he hopes that more such collaborations will be made between tourism authorities, governments, actors and television stations. “Let this be the first of many seasons we do,” he added.
The series will premiere from April 28 and end on July 21. It can be seen every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. on the TV4 network, in addition to having two repetitions; one on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and the second on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. It can also be viewed on the YouTube channel and the microsite of the Ministry of Tourism of Guanajuato.
The docureality series, co-produced by TV4Guanajuato and the Ministry of Tourism of Guanajuato, also promotes sustainable lifestyles, with a figure recognized by the public and the media respected for his genuine commitment to environmental conservation.
In his speech, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, stressed that Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez has sought to be a great promoter of tourism. “We were developing this project so that the people of Guanajuato would go out, but also share what Guanajuato is to the rest of the Republic,” said the official in the presentation of the series.
“This series was born from the concern to sow in the viewers to know Guanajuato. Many times we do not know our state or our country,” said Rafael Gutiérrez Mercadillo, deputy general director of TV4, at a press conference.
Over the past year, Arap was one of the leaders who moved environmental conversations, one of the figures who most talked about sustainability on social media. Bethke is an internationally renowned actor with a very successful career with work primarily in Mexico, Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Many of the projects he has been traveling on around the world are, “Club de Cuervos” and “La Piloto”, both currently available on NETFLIX.
Throughout his ascendant and impeccable acting career he has to his credit more than 12 films and over 25 productions for television and digital OTT platforms. His outstanding work in film, television and theater has given him several awards and recognitions. He has been the face of international brands for advertising campaigns, in addition to presenting multiple television programs and awards ceremonies.
His most recent films are “Guadalupe Reyes” and “Sin Origen”, now on AMAZON. Soon he will release two new films in Mexico “Allowed” and “Mal de Ojo”, which he stars. Both productions were shot in Aztec lands in October and November 2021.
Arap has participated star in successful and recognized productions for Televisa that have gone around the world, being some of the most outstanding: “La Usurpadora” available on Amazon Prime Video, “Clase 406”, “RBD La Familia” and “Mi Generación”. Actor Arap Bethke was named Ambassador of the Environment in Mexico by The Climate Project Mexico. He is also a spokesperson for “The Climate Reality Project” joining Nobel Laureate and former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore, in the eighth edition of the event “24 Hours Of Reality broadcast, Project Our Planet, Protect Ourselves”. He is also a spokesperson for The Ocean: The Great Provider campaign, an initiative of the environmental organization Sachamama, which highlights the need to take climate action to ensure the ocean can remain a source of life and sustenance for our planet and our communities.
Committed to environmental causes, the histrión joined the environmental organization Greenpeace México as a spokesman for the campaign #ConsumoResponsable which seeks to empower the inhabitants of large cities and motivate them to a radical change in their consumption models to win the battle against climate change.
In addition, Arap was Spokesperson for the “He for She” campaign of UN Women Mexico to join men for women’s rights and gender equality.
