Debuting at the Exquisite Gucci fashion show, many aspects of the collection were further showcased in a new lookbook ahead of the launch.

May 10, 2022 – Designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, adidas x Gucci combines the brand’s crest with that of the legendary sportswear brand. The collection expands on the sartorial streetwear creations that debuted on the runway, with a collection of sport-inspired pieces that share the same kaleidoscope aesthetic.

To showcase these choices, Alessandro Michele envisioned a series of images inspired by archival catalogues, while photographer Carlijn Jacobs captured a group of characters posing against a colorful backdrop and sports props A dynamic posture.

The heritage of both brands is reflected in three lines, with an obsession with stripes in ready-to-wear, sporty and casual silhouettes. The sweatpants feature Adidas’ white three-stripes on one leg, while the other is defined by Gucci’s red and green webbing. The vibrant print shows how motifs such as the adidas shamrock and the GG monogram work together to amplify both heritages. Traditional formal pieces, such as leather pumps, suede loafers and scarves, also entered the mix as they were labelled with casual codes. Likewise, the retro aesthetic has become thoroughly modern as it proclaims that there are no rules when it comes to wearing.

Reflecting a shared commitment to innovation, progress, sustainability goals and collective action, the collection includes pieces made from forward-thinking fabrics such as polyester, cotton and viscose.

The first adidas x Gucci lookbook will release the collection on June 7 in select Gucci stores, dedicated pop-ups and online on Gucci.com and the adidas CONFIRMED app, alongside a separate dedicated campaign.
