She is so sweet, so dear, a girl with such special charisma and way of being; inside her there is a world as big as hers dreams of her and illusions of her; Cristal Aparicio, within her commitments, shared with us something about her life, her projects and we were able to talk about this long-awaited movie “Sound of Freedom” where she acted alongside great international actors such as Jim Caviezel, Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp. Produced by the Latin Eduardo Verastegui. For us it is a pleasure to highlight her work in thi Jim Caviezel, Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp s film as well as her talent and her passion for her art. The acting.
How did your career in film and television begin? I started my career as an actress at the age of 10, I am from Cúcuta, north of Santander and we had to come to Bogotá to settle when I was 11 years old. We spent 1 year with my family traveling by land between Cúcuta and Bogotá for my acting classes and training as an artist. Did I learn a lot from acting and from the cinema itself.
What role has marked your acting career in film or television? The role that has marked me the most was the role of Rocío in “Sound of freedom”, which was the first film I filmed when I was 11 years old, since it deals with a somewhat difficult subject, it really was an unforgettable experience. I met amazing people. so I am very grateful for this great project.
How was the process to be in the movie Sound of Freedom? To be in this film it was a normal casting, they sent it to my manager Carlota Buitrago and they took us to the casting, there were a lot of girls, we did the casting, I had 3 callbacks and then I had to attend 3 times; The casting was a bit difficult, but I think I managed to touch the director’s heart and I think that’s why they told me to be “Rocío”.
Let’s talk a little about your character, how was the creative process to build it? How much support was there from your family? To create Rocío, I think I never had to create her, I feel that Rocío had always been there. Rocío, it can be a case of real life. I eat as many. It was an investigative process on the part of the work team, but even so I tried to do it from the bottom of my heart, put myself in Rocío’s feet, I feel that we share a lot in common with Rocío: she is a very dreamy girl and despite of all that she lived through, she never gave up; Something we share in common, we never give up on anything life shows us a lot of sacrifices, but can we do it? YEAH!! Rocío’s creation was a very cute character and I learned a lot from her. My family always supported me in my career as an actress, my mom more than anything, and my older brother. They were always very willing when I told them I wanted to be an actress. My mother traveled, she left everything in Cúcuta for the dream of my brother and I, so I believe that we have always received great support from my family.
Did you imagine all this commercial boom that you would have when making this film? The boom that the film had has been impressive, I did not expect it from one day to the next! I started to have many followers, many people write to me in all kinds of languages, I think it was an incredible boom, many people congratulating me on my work, thanking me. I believe that the movie deserves all this success and blessings!
Speaking a little more about you personally, do you have any favorite food? Well, telling you a little more about my favorite food, huh? Yeah! I love street food and all that, like pizza, hamburger, but above all I love it madly, it’s the food my mom makes.
What is that movie that you like to watch several times? The movie that I love repeating is “Aladdin”, I love everything about the music, I love everything about live action a lot. Go find her and see her.
