Hi, congrats for this cover. How do you feel?

Why thank you! It means so much. I FEEL AWESOME. I couldn’t be more ecstatic. I am so beyond honored.

Tell us about this photo shoot

BEST. DAY. EVER! I had the most amazing time. Everything about today was wonderful. The team was so badass! The coolest and dopest people you can meet. It was rad. Only the greatest vibes on set today. The creative vision of a fun, western inspired shoot was executed beautifully by everyone. Everyone was extraordinary and incredible. I couldn’t be more appreciative.

Well, you look gorgeous. When do you feel you are at your sexiest?

AWE thank you so much. As cliche as it is, I feel I am at my sexiest when I am simply being me. Embracing my true authentic self – flaws, imperfections, and all. No need for approval and validation from anyone else or anything else. First thing when I wake up in the morning looking in the mirror and smiling. No makeup, messy hair, comfy clothes – jamming out to my music, drinking my coffee, getting ready to start a brand new five star day. There is no better feeling.

What is your best asset?

As much as modeling comes down to who you are on the outside, I have to say, my best asset is who I am on the inside. I 100% think my personality is my greatest asset. My heart and soul is filled with so much love, light, raw, and realness and I sincerely think that is something so special about me. People always say I am a ray of sunshine. I’d like to think I am too. I genuinely want everyone to be full of love, happiness, and confidence and to look at themselves and know they are a work of art. They always have been and always will be. Your flaws and imperfections just add more originality and uniqueness to the masterpiece that is you! And my personality definitely has that positive impact on people.

For those who don’t know a lot about you, tell us a bit more about yourself.

Howdy everyone haha!! I am Mazzy Star Genovese. I was named after an alternative rock band called “Mazzy Star.” My family are big music people and it was just a given I was going to be named after some sort of artist or band. I definitely am a charismatic, goofy, outgoing little angel. Definitely a free spirit and thrill seeker. I was born and raised in Horse Town, USA aka Norco, California. I grew up dirt biking and off roading. I actually built my own trophy truck/Pre Runner that I off road with 24/7. I have always loved the arts and dreamed of one day making a life for myself from my deep rooted passions. Aside from modeling full time time, I am also a full time graphic design artist for a clothing company in Downtown Los Angeles. Modeling has always been my biggest aspiration! Even though growing up I always have loved getting down and dirty being a daredevil, the little girl inside of me always wanted to be strutting the runway and striking poses in photoshoots. Being curvy and having tattoos, I have struggled to be completely confident with myself within this industry. However, times have changed, and I couldn’t be more thankful to be me. Spreading love and positivity in an artistic way expressing my truest self and representing all the gorgeous girls and women out there who also got curves and tattoos. I hope I can make a difference within the modeling industry and be a healthy reminder to girls and women that they are more than enough and more than worthy, no matter what shape, size, background, and ethnicity they are. They will always be breathtaking human beings that deserve to love themselves and be treated with unconditional love and respect. Shoutout to all my ladies out there. Y’all pretty as hell and deserve the world.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in modeling?
Truly and honestly, because I wanted to prove to my younger self that I could do it. That I could make it in this industry. Struggling with body dysmorphia and eating disorders throughout my life, I definitely battled with accepting myself for the way that I am and fully loving myself and what I bring to the table. I know I got curves and some chub here and there and probably wasn’t the most “ideal” body type to the public. I have some blemishes and breakouts and marks and scars. But through daily commitment to self love, I eventually got to a point where I said “Screw it. I am a beautiful blessing. I am enough. I am worthy. I am human. No one is perfect. I deserve the opportunities in this
world and on this planet just as much as anyone else. I can do this – simply being me.” It was like a light switch flipped in my brain. I wasn’t afraid anymore to authentically embrace myself. The industry that used to be really very negative and toxic for people physically, mentally, and emotionally – I wanted to change that. I knew the modeling world was cut throat, no doubt. But I wanted to try my best to add positivity to it. Love and light. I want people to be able to wake up in the morning and go to bed at night and know they are magical. That their presence is a gift and that who they are is so rare. They are 1/1. They have inherent value that no one ever should diminish. That light inside of them deserves to sparkle and shine and reach its fullest potential. And so that is why I wanted to pursue a career in modeling.

What inspires you? What would people be most surprised to know about you?

Myself. The fighter inside of me. I’ve definitely been through hell and back and have fought some tough battles, but that constant desire to want better for myself and to never quit on myself is something I do take pride and joy in. I think most people would be surprised to know I used to be a two-time CIF Southern Section and state champion in cross country and track. I have ran sub-5 minute miles in as early as middle school. I have qualified and competed at national competitions such as “Nike Cross Nationals.” My old running career definitely is something I will never forget. Especially from the fact that my dad basically coached me throughout all of this with absolutely no running
experience or knowledge at all on cross country and track. We made a pretty baller team lmao. He is my real life super hero.

Finish this sentence: Public nudity is…

Interesting. I have no opinion on it. The only thing I will say is about NUDITY though is that it is nothing people should be ashamed of. That’s your birthday suit dude. Own it. Whatever you are comfortable with is all that matters. But again, I have no opinion on public nudity.

What do you look for in a man?

HERE WE GO BABY! Personality and vibe – most important to me by far and away. If you got a beautiful heart and soul, and are down to earth and genuine – then you and I are probably going to get along amazingly. Faithful, loyal, raw, real. Authentic! I love a guy
who doesn’t care what people think and are themselves. A dude that treats girls and women, and other boys and men with love and respect. I look for someone who takes care of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally and has ambition and passion. ALSO IF YOU FUNNY, YES SIR. Count me in. Nothing I love more than laughing my ass off. And lastly, adventurous. We better be going on adventures of a lifetime together haha.

What’s the best way for a man to win his way to your heart?

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. You want to win my heart? Prove it. My kindness isn’t a weakness, it’s a treasure to have in your life, so don’t take advantage of it. And most importantly, the man should just be himself. If we are truly and honestly meant to be, things will just click naturally between us.

What’s one thing men should always remember when it comes to women?

Not sure who came up with the quote “nice guys finish last,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Women DO love nice guys. Absolutely LOVE nice guys. But remember, if you are a good guy/great guy, you wouldn’t have to say that you are. Your actions will prove that. Simply the way you are will easily show us that. I can’t speak for all women, but I absolutely despise men who got way too much ego and pride. Sit down and be humble bro.

Describe your ideal date?

As weird as this is, driving together on the open road. No destination. Background music playing and just enjoying one another’s company talking about life. Eventually stopping somewhere to sit outside and look at the stars. Maybe even grab some gas stations snacks beforehand. I am a simple girl. The little things in life make me so happy.

Would you ever date one of your social media followers?

YES because I already have done that haha!!

What’s next for you? Any exciting projects on the horizon you can share with us?

YES. Couldn’t be more excited to say I am modeling in Milan, Italy soon. A literal dreamcome true of mine to go over seas and model there. Stay tuned for the projects I work on out there!

Where would you like to be in five years?

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE WITH THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. I would hope to be happy and healthy as can be physically, mentally, and emotionally. But more than anything, I would hope that I achieve all of the things I aspired I would within my graphic design and modeling career. I would like to be the best version of myself I have ever been in five years and be surrounded by the family and friends I love most, doing what I love most.
