Plano, TX and Campbell, CA (January 24, 2023) – When guests purchase the all-new RZ 450e all-electric crossover from Lexus dealerships, they will be presented with several ways to enhance their electric battery management through an enhanced charging experience. Lexus today announced a partnership with ChargePoint, Inc. (NYSE: CHPT), a leading public EV charging network and home charger provider, and Qmerit, a provider of home charger installation and EV integration solutions, to offer home charger and installation services, as well as a nationwide network of public charging stations for electric vehicles.
“With the Lexus RZ 450e arriving at dealerships soon, we want to ensure our guests have a seamless charging experience both at home and on the road,” said Dejuan Ross, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “Our arrangement with ChargePoint and Qmerit was created to provide RZ guests with tools and services to help them to understand, identify and solve their charging needs so they can feel confident in their Lexus Electrified journey.”
For many RZ 450e owners, home will be their vehicle’s primary charging location. Participating Lexus dealers will have the option to purchase a Level 2 ChargePoint Home Flex charger from the dealer or directly from ChargePoint online to help support the home charging experience. The ChargePoint Home Flex is ENERGY STAR® certified and Wi-Fi capable, can be installed indoors or outdoors, and includes a 7-meter charging cable to support a variety of parking configurations. With the ChargePoint Home Flex charger connected, electric vehicles can be charged up to nine times faster than a standard outlet. The home charger can charge up to 25 miles per hour and fully charge the battery when plugged in overnight.

To learn more about ChargePoint Home Flex installation options, Lexus turned to Qmerit to guide RZ 450e guests through the process. Qmerit’s comprehensive services include finding a certified electrician to install an electric vehicle charger, providing a free initial quote and additional services. Customers are introduced to Qmerit at the time of purchase at participating retailers.

For public charging, RZ 450e guests can also connect to ChargePoint’s extensive public network of Level 2 and Level 3 chargers (DC fast chargers), including roaming partner stations throughout North America. An extensive network of charging stations gives EV owners access to more than 80% of charging stations in North America, giving them the ability to charge when, where and how they want. Through the Lexus app, customers can quickly find, use and pay for vehicle charging by integrating ChargePoint’s public charging APIs.
