Evans Scholars Foundation awards college scholarships to caddies – Since 2007, the BMW Championship has allowed more than 3,330 young people to study – Viktor Hovland (NOR) earns an extra scholarship with an ace on the final round of 2022.

The 2022 BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware has raised more than $4.5 million in caddy scholarships, the Western Golf Association (WGA) announced today. With support from BMW, Wilmington Country Club, a local Delaware Valley golf community, and fans, the 2022 BMW Championship was the second largest contribution to the Evans Scholars Fund. The BMW Championship has now made an even bigger contribution. more than $44.5 million into the Evans Scholars Fund since 2007, which has helped fund for full tuition and provided college scholarships to over 3300 caddies over years.
“The 2022 BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club was an outstanding golf tournament in every regard, with the icing on the cake being this magnificent contribution towards the Evans Scholars Foundation,” said Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Human Resources and Real Estate. “While the BMW Championship is a great way to showcase our brand and engage customers, it is just as important to us that the BMW Group is able to help the Evans Scholars Foundation improve the lives of so many young people.”
120,000 golfers came to this year’s BMW Championship and people saw how Patrick Cantley wrote tournament history: the American was the first player to successfully defend his title. It wasn’t the only great performance last Sunday. Victor Hovland hit an ace on the second hole. This was the first time in the tournament that BMW has traditionally donated an additional $125,000 to the on behalf of a precision player for full four-year education and living expenses. This is the sixth time in the history of the BMW Championship.
