After a world tour that began this summer in North America, Europe and the Middle East, the Bugatti V16 Mistral has arrived in Asia. In its latest stop, Bugatti’s final destination is Tokyo, the world’s most populous city and one of the world’s largest financial centers.
Tokyo is a vibrant metropolis known for its cutting-edge technology, rich culture and vast heritage. It is a city that combines tradition with modernity. Visitors can simultaneously explore temples that are over 1,000 years old and view the tallest buildings in the world. The W16 Mistral¹ feels right at home, drawing on over a century of Bugatti history and embodying the latest innovations in automotive design.
Among the first stops in Japan, W16 Mistral visited Kanda Myojin Temple, believed to be one of Tokyo’s oldest temples. Its distinctive architectural style is timeless amidst the modernity of a 21st century metropolis. As with the W16 Mistral, years of tradition meet the latest technology in a perfect combination.
W16 Mistral also passes through Oishi Park, with Mount Fuji in the distance and Lake Kawaguchi in the foreground. Here, in fading light, the striking rear treatment, accentuated by the X-themed taillight motif, is a shining beacon for the future of Bugatti design.
W16 Mistral continued its exploration of the city, stopping at the world famous Mount Kadan. The former retreat of the imperial family, Mount Kadan is a natural combination of nature with its natural hot springs, tradition and luxury that awakens all five senses. In the same way, the W16 Mistral, named after the wind that heralds new seasons in southern France, is created by nature; rich in tradition, including Rembrandt Bugatti’s “Dancing Elephant” sculpture hidden in the gearstick; and designed to thrill.
In 2021, the Bugatti Tokyo Motor Showroom was officially opened by the official partner of the Bugatti Sky Group, which has accumulated many years of experience in meeting the needs and desires of its customers through its portfolio of leading luxury brands. The W16 Mistral took center stage in the showroom as customers dined at a world-famous Michelin star restaurant nearby.
Kostas Psarris, Regional Director Middle East & Asia at Bugatti, said: “Tokyo and Japan have always been a natural home for Bugatti. Ours is a brand that is guided by our traditions but always driven by the very latest advancements in technology, engineering and design. The W16 Mistral is an ideal showcase of our values, evolving from a long lineage of beautiful Bugatti roadsters, but forever pushing forward with incomparable levels of performance and luxury. It’s a great honor to explore the sights of Japan and share our latest creation with the international clientele of Bugatti Tokyo, many of whom are among the most passionate Bugatti collectors in the world. In fact, the number of Bugatti hyper sports cars delivered in Japan is one of the highest for Bugatti worldwide.”
