“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to return once again to Blenheim Palace for Salon Privé. Salon Privé is an important event in the luxury calendar, making it the perfect place for the Phantom Series II, the marque’s magnum opus, to make its UK public debut. We will also showcase a highly Bespoke Black Badge Ghost at the event. I look forward to meeting our esteemed clients, friends of the marque and media at this year’s gathering.” Boris Weletzky, Regional Director UK, Europe, Russia and Central Asia, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

From 31st August 2022, luxury car enthusiasts will gather in the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire for the Salon Privé, an exclusive competition of elegance. In recognition of this gathering, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will present two unique orders at the event, the Phantom Series II and the Black Badge Ghost. Each of these commissions is a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of Rolls-Royce at Bespoke and is a testament to the brand’s breadth of craftsmanship, design and engineering capabilities.

ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM SERIES II

Phantom occupies a unique position at the forefront of the luxury world. It represents the pinnacle of Rolls-Royce design, engineering and craftsmanship.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently introduced a new expression for the Phantom Series II. The eighth generation of the Phantom was introduced in 2017. In creating this new expression, Rolls-Royce’s designers and engineers were guided by requests from customers who asked Rolls-Royce not to make any major changes to the already iconic car. Only the lightest of design touches, embellishments and adjustments were made in response to these customer demands. After all, it’s not about what should be changed, but what should be preserved and protected.

The most obvious and important trait to keep is the Phantom’s overwhelming presence. This was further enhanced with a new polished horizontal line between the daytime running lights above the Pantheon grille.

A subtle geometric change to the Pantheon grille makes the RR badge and the Spirit of Ecstasy talisman more visible from the front. The grille itself is now highlighted, a feature that debuted and became popular in Ghost. The headlights are adorned with intricate, laser-cut starlights that create a visual link to the interior Starlight headliner, adding even more surprise and delight to the Phantom’s nocturnal presence.

The Phantom’s side profile retains the characteristic Rolls-Royce short front and long rear overhangs, long wheelbase and wide C-pillar, providing increased passenger privacy. The silhouette maintains the elegant key lines running from the Spirit of Ecstasy to the tapered back. The ‘split belt’ line begins at the front fender and gently sweeps towards the tailgate, emphasizing the car’s long proportions from dashboard to axle before gently sloping down to the taillight-like taillights. The heavily cropped “wavy line” creates a strong shadow and visually signals the brand’s unrivaled “flying carpet ride”.

The side profile has been further improved with a set of new wheels. The 3D-milled triangular stainless steel wheel is available with full or partial polishing for commissioning. Alternatively, the Phantom can be adorned with a truly elegant disc wheel, reminiscent of the romance of 1920s Rolls-Royce cars. This disc wheel is made of polished stainless steel with a black finish to perfectly capture the feeling of flying on the ground.

In response to requests from Phantom customers who previously requested dark chrome grille surround, black hood rails, windshield surround and side frame trim, they are now operational. This aesthetic now allows Rolls-Royce to transform the Phantom into the lightest or darkest look.

A fully bespoke Phantom was commissioned for this year’s Salon Privé, presented in a classic two-tone Rolls-Royce color scheme of black over Monteverde green and a peony pink bodyline. Inside, the Scivaro Gray interior is matched with Peony Pink. Open-pore Obsydian Ayous wood and Canadian paneling give a modern yet warm look.

ROLLS-ROYCE BLACK BADGE

Released in 2016, the Black Badge represents the subversive alter ego of the Rolls-Royce brand. Engineered for torque, handling and performance, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge is designed for those who eschew conformity and live by their own rules. It’s for innovators, trailblazers, rule breakers, and most importantly, those who dare to be different. Available on Wraith, Dawn, Cullinan and Ghost, this permanent bespoke series combines noir aesthetics and very modern interior materials with a more current, dynamic personality. At the Salon Privé 2022, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is presenting the most powerful incarnation of Rolls-Royce to date, the Black Badge Ghost.

The bright St Tropez exterior livery was chosen to convey the dramatic intent of this Black Badge Ghost job. The spectacular color combination of Scivaro Grey, Charles Blue and Mandarin confidently determines the aesthetic interior.

As in previous years, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will lead the Tour Privé. In 2022 this mobile hall will include a 120 mile tour of the Cotswolds led by the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost. Signature Black Badge styling, shown in vibrant Twilight Purple, flourishes, including a carbon fiber Spirit of Ecstasy, while 21-inch Black Badge wheels accentuate the exterior aesthetic. Inside, black leather creates a strong and bold impression, while Tailored Purple colors on the accessory panels and inner door panels reflect the body tone.
