Fast and competitive riders speak and KTM listens. The KTM RC 8C is a purpose-built, handcrafted and track-specific ‘tool’ developed last year. For 2023, the company has reset the watch face. The new model has been revised and the spec sheet has been kept on the whetstone for a clearer “ready to race” profile.

The second-generation KTM RC 8C needed more than a new paint coat and tweaks to the aerodynamic package. With motorcycle riders and racers quickly embracing the concept, KTM is again excited to raise the bar for performance. The result is that the 2023 version features a completely evolved LC8c engine designed for the track, improved electronic features, lighter weight solutions and a range of high-end components that ensure the bike is competitive.

Performance, durability and limitless capability: these are the key priorities of the KTM R&D team dedicated to the KTM RC 8C 2023. Increased 7 hp at 11,000 rpm to a maximum power of 135 hp (torque clearing 98 Nm/min at 8,250 rpm) Has been improved with modifications such as the installation of new lighter titanium valves and connecting rods, as well as two Piston rings (to improve swing quality), higher compression ratio, larger throttle body and enhanced fuel pump/pressure. Increased clutch preload, removal of the top balancer and adjustment of the crankcase balancer shaft increase durability, while an additional PANKL oil cooler helps improve thermal stability.

The 2023 KTM RC 8C has been optimised to a dry weight of just 142kg and creates a prototype vibe with the outstanding agility of the CrMo4 steel frame to successfully attack the inside of any superbike. Measures like a new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system help keep the weight down, but the Rapier feels boosted with an upgrade set to the latest configuration of the WP PRO COMPONENTS. WP APEX PRO fork and shock are now softer; increased comfort, connection and trust.

Road bikes can be launched in a number of ways; from the adjustable steering head to the offset of the CNC-machined triple clamps, throttle response and bite of the unrivaled Brembo Stylema calipers and RCS19 Corsa Corta master cylinder.

A revised dashboard with a GPS data logger displays lap record attempts, while a KTM RC16-derived handlebar switch gives the rider full control with the left thumb while the left foot hammers through the racing QUICKSHIFTER+’s reverse mode.

As a final reminder, the KTM RC 8C 2023 was designed for racers and was born from a company with racing in mind: the use of winglets and aerodynamics is directly linked to the successful MotoGP™ program in which the KTM RC16 Winning seven Grands Prix in six races for years of first-class level. Downforce and efficiency when braking and accelerating are some of those advantages. If competitors and observers are quick enough to catch the 2023 version of the KTM RC 8C, they’ll only be impressed by the menacing black that stands for “speed” and “exclusivity.” Project Description.
