(Crewe, 1 November 2022) Bentley introduces the Bentayga Odyssean Edition, continuing the story of sustainable design excellence without compromising on renowned Bentley character or craftsmanship. Focusing on sustainability, this new limited edition is strictly limited to just 70 pieces.
Launched in 2021 for the Flying Spur family, the first Odyssean Edition’s design has been influenced by the EXP 100 GT concept car that defines Bentley’s luxury mobility vision for 2035 as part of its Beyond100 strategy. Similar to the Flying Spur Odyssean, the new Bentayga Limited Edition features a hybrid powertrain.
Together, the Bentayga Hybrid’s V6 petrol engine, electric motor and new and improved 18.0kWh battery deliver an exceptional range of performance, from the serenity of the near-quiet, zero-emission EV mode to exhilarating full-throttle acceleration in the pure electric range at WLTP – Increase to at least 45 kilometers in Cycle.
With a combined output of 462 hp (456 hp) from the 3.0-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine and 100 kW electric generator, it propels the Bentayga Hybrid from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Top speed is 254 km/h. Instead, the hybrid system enhances the feeling of effortless performance, as the electric motor is able to deliver its full torque at zero revs.
Bentley’s hybrid portfolio now includes 7 of 14 models, meaning 50 percent of the entire Bentley model lineup is now electric.
Sustainability isn’t just about the powertrain, but also about the materials in the cabin. The open-pore acacia veneer of the center console requires 90% less paint than high-gloss finishes, allowing you to enjoy the wood’s natural surface texture and beauty. The open cell veneer is selected from only the finest grained materials and applied with just three ultra-thin coats of lacquer with a total thickness of just 0.1 mm.
The dash and hip rails feature a sleek, minimalist piano linen finish, while a special tri-coloured leather design adds new depth to the entire interior. Along with new materials, sustainable natural leather is used throughout the cabin for its long-lasting durability.
The interior also features beautifully crafted 100% British wool tweed paneling, blended into bespoke yarns in a range of shades to create a unique natural luxury textile created exclusively for Bentley.
Interior accents are crafted from a soft, warm leather called Autumn, and buyers can choose from five specifications that use Beluga, Porpoise, Cricketball, Brunel, or Burnt Oak leather along with lightweight, modern canvas leather. The result is a unique three-tone palette – a first for the second generation Bentayga. The Odyssean Edition’s unique sill panel is visible when entering and exiting and matches the external D-pillar badging.
As with the Flying Spur Odyssean’s ombre effect, the exclusive embroidery style allows the thread colors to blend seamlessly across the width of each seat.
On the outside, Pale Brodgar paint accents on the 22-inch ten-spoke wheels and distinctive lower trim (front and rear bumpers, headlight and taillight bezels, and chromed underbody) create a uniquely tranquil character. A carefully selected palette of six body colors was recommended to match the Pale Brodgar accents, but the full Bentley palette of more than 60 colors is available.
Wellness And Comfort As Standard
As with the Bentley Azure models, the Odyssean Edition prioritizes the well-being and comfort of passengers, making every journey enjoyable, regardless of the distance. Outside the urban environment, the powerful combination of 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and electric motor continues to ensure a smooth and refined driving experience.
The Bentayga Odyssean Edition promotes passenger well-being through a combination of design, technology and craftsmanship. Its specification includes the Front Seat Comfort specification, which offers up to 22 adjustment directions and a heating and ventilation function to maintain an optimal body temperature for comfort and attention.
The feeling of safe, confident driving and easy handling is further enhanced by the equipment of the Touring driver assistance systems. Adaptive cruise control* maintains a set distance from the vehicle in front, applies the brakes (if necessary, stops) when the vehicle in front does so and resumes the set speed when the lane clears. Along with Lane Assist*, Traffic Assist* and Bentley Safeguard, Bentley’s onboard radar and camera package constantly monitors surrounding traffic and roads.

Technologically Efficent
The Bentayga Hybrid features a dedicated button that allows you to control the three e-modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Mode and Hold Mode. This allows the driver to manually manage battery usage while driving, although the car can also manage this automatically.
The EV Drive mode is activated as soon as the vehicle is started and ensures maximum electric driving pleasure. This is perfect for city driving and short trips. The Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Accelerator Pedal gives the driver feedback via a pressure point to mark the boundary between pure electric and hybrid propulsion. Using prediction data from the Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Navigation database, the pedal vibrates when approaching an intersection or reducing the speed limit, advising the driver to ease off the accelerator to conserve energy while providing maximum recovery opportunities. Haptic feedback from the accelerator when transitioning from switching off the electric motor to starting the combustion engine encourages the driver to stay in EV Drive mode for as long as possible to maximize efficiency. With the pure electric drive, the electric motor continues to run up to a speed of 130 km/h.
Hybrid Mode maximises vehicle efficiency and range using data from the intelligent navigation system. This mode is suited for longer journeys and uses predictive E-Mode and engine coasting whilst following directions from the navigation system. Inputting a destination, the car will automatically engage the correct Drive Mode for each part of the journey, constantly calculating the most efficient use of battery charge and storing electrical energy for sections of the journey where it is most useful – such as when arriving in the city. The system will reduce on-board charge to zero just as the vehicle reaches its destination, maximising overall efficiency.
Hold Mode balances engine and electric power to hold high voltage battery charge for later use. This is the default mode in Sport mode for smooth acceleration and recuperation. The
Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Braking combines seamless braking integration between the e-motor and conventional hydraulic brakes to provide conventional brake pedal feel for driver comfort and pleasure, as well as for maximum energy recovery.

By 2025, the full Bentley range will be offered with hybrid powertrains, coinciding with the launch of the first-ever Bentley Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
