The Dominican reveals how she managed to create her own company, through which she not only helps women look more beautiful, but empowers them with examples of tenacity, love and empathy. After 14 years of marriage and two daughters, Jacqueline Perdomo never imagined that her dream of becoming an entrepreneur would come true. The woman, of Dominican origin, saw, in the midst of a personal crisis, the perfect opportunity to undertake and test her talents at a professional level. “I was in charge of managing the accounting area of my husband’s company.
However, my partner and I went through a very hard test, to the point that I gave up. Seeing myself with nothing, 6 years ago, and with the unconditional support of my husband, I decided to sell products online in a multi-brand store called “De Glamour”. That’s where it all started,” says Jacqueline. That’s when a special body care product came into his hands. This is “Dainty”, a spray to remove hairs from the body. Jacqueline saw in this product a great potential for her clients. “I started selling the product, but many didn’t see it as. So, I dedicated myself to looking for the laboratories to perfect it. I specialized in marketing and, after a while, decided to launch my own company with the same name as the product. Of course I was afraid, of course it was not easy, but so with fear, I did it, “says the businesswoman.
For three years, Jacqueline made her star product take off, so much so that the pandemic became a boost to her project, because, in the middle of the confinement, no one could go to a beauty salon to perform any type of procedure, including hair removal. “It was the time when I worked the most. My daughters even helped me too much and continue to do so. Currently, I have a team of 10 workers on the payroll and we are in more than 50 distributors in New York, Miami, Colombia and Ecuador, “he adds Although success has sheltered her, Jacqueline warns that her company would be nothing without the love, talent and human warmth that she imprints on everything she does, added to the great support of her husband, and is that for Jacqueline, business success, will always be supported on the foundations of the family, and it is that perfect amalgam, between love and effort, which has resulted in the recognition that today receives her company.
The entrepreneur strives to make her employees fall in love with the products as much as she does. “I don’t sell for the sake of selling. What I sell is service, empathy, love. I like to empower my clients and my employees. I listen to them, I advise them, even in their private lives. It’s that we are a team, a family. That’s the most important thing for me.”
One of Jacqueline’s great achievements is the opening of her first face-to-face store in Santo Domingo. The first of many dreams she has to fulfill, because her goal is to expand in many more countries, but, most importantly, to impact the lives of many women, who see this business model as their livelihood. “To women I say we can all be independent. We are capable, intelligent. Of course, we have to continue preparing ourselves to face life with its challenges. God knows how He does things and I believe that, from hard times, the best ideas always come up. The teaching that this moment of my life leaves me is that, if you want, you can,” she concludes.
